Dr. DuMontier has been very pleasant to work with. He is very knowledgable and addresses any issues I have presented directly to him. However, the staff needs to work on some communication with patients. I have never had surgery before, so the information given to me was important, and I was careful to take the instructions as directed to me by staff. But it was not conveyed to me that I would need to call so far in advance to renew a prescription for the post-op pain meds, which in fact left me needing to call the next day after receiving the few they would prescribe. There is also poor callback when leaving a request on the nurse's phone answering machine. There were at least 2 occasions when I had to call and leave a message, and no one ever called me back. There was one other time when I did call, leave a message, and a call was returned to me, but well after the time indicated on the voice message (I believe the machine said there would be a call returned 24-48 hours later, but I did not receive this call back until 4 days later - I was told the machine I left my message on was for a person who was actually on vacation...would have been nice to not have been transferred to this person instead of wondering what I am supposed to do in the meantime and hearing nothing from anyone). Clearer - PRINTED - instructions would be nice, regarding prescription renewal and recommended exercises; callbacks would certainly be appreciated, especially when promised. Communication is important, and I do feel the clinicians lack this. Things have improved, but moreso because I am only dealing directly with Dr. DuMontier himself in my follow-ups. I don't like voicing complaints, but I do feel these things should be addressed and amended for the next patient who comes along and does not receive clear communication. Thank you.
