Kurt A. Anderson, MD
Dr. Kurt Anderson earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson before completing a year-long fellowship in hand, upper extremity, and microvascular surgery at The Indiana Hand Center, in Indianapolis, Indiana, which specializes in treating and studying upper extremity disorders. This training focused on the treatment of musculoskeletal problems in the upper extremities including arthritis and joint replacement, trauma reconstruction, injuries from overuse, and abnormalities that are present from birth. Dr. Anderson also completed a five-year orthopaedic surgery residency, including an internship in general surgery at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. Prior to joining Olympia Orthopaedic Associated in 2013, Dr. Anderson practiced in Spokane, WA for six years.
Dr. Anderson specializes in treating acute injuries to the elbow, wrist, and hand as well as performing arthroscopic and reconstructive procedures to restore a high level of function after an injury. He also has significant experience treating disabling arthritic conditions of the upper extremities. His particular interest is in treating painful problems of the elbow.
Dr. Anderson has authored several research publications, including a chapter on the arthritic treatment of the elbow. Additionally, he routinely travels to speak to other orthopaedic specialists regarding hand and upper extremity care.
Dr. Anderson's interests are skiing, road biking, mountain biking, hiking, surfing, sailing, whitewater kayaking, foreign languages and international travel.
